Hemlock Hill Cabin has four bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms over three floors. We can  accommodate up to eight people, including children. See Cabin Layout page for more  information. 

The driveway is gravel, short, and only at a slight incline (see gallery photo). The cabin is easily accessible throughout the year. Extra care should be taken during winter months. See next question.

In general we recommend AWD/4WD for driving throughout the High Country during winter (technically October to April). The neighborhood is paved and plowed during inclement weather. While our gravel driveway is short and at a slight incline, it may be a challenge during times of ice or deep snow. We provide a shovel and rock salt. Unfortunately, due to the weather being unpredictable we are unable to award refunds or credits due to inclement weather. Please consider travel insurance.

Designed with families in mind (we’re parents too), the cabin is perfect for guests of all ages. Pack-n-play, high chair, gates, hiking child carrier, all terrain stroller, monitor, baby gate, and toys/games are available.  The cabin is family-friendly and set up with kids in mind, though like most vacation homes it is not completely childproofed; therefore, we encourage parents to use their own judgment as they settle in.

We accept up to two dogs with a fee. All pets must be disclosed to hosts. Pet rules must be followed and respected. Learn more about cabin amenities and layout here. 

• Full refund if cancelled within 48 hours of booking, provided the cancellation is made at least 14 days before check-in.
• 50% refund if cancelled more than 30 days before check-in.
• No refund for cancellations made within 30 days of check-in.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for added peace of mind, especially for mountain travel in winter months.  Option to purchase at the time of reservation.  

Booking directly through our website is the best way to get the lowest price on your stay. When you book on Airbnb or VRBO, platform service fees can add 15–20% on top of the nightly rate — fees that go straight to them, not toward your vacation.

When you book direct, the only additional charges are a 4% payment processing fee and 12.75% in taxes (required by the state of NC). That’s it. No platform markups, no surprise fees at at checkout.

Additional fees when applicable: pet fee ($150), early check-in($50) or late checkout($50)

Check-in is at 3pm and checkout is 10am. Alternative times may be available as an add-on service. Inquire with your hosts if you’re interested.

Yes!  Everything is done through our secure property management system, OwnerRez with the payment processing through Stripe.  

Access to the entire property, except for owner’s closet.  

The entire cabin -kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, and beyond – is fully stocked.
